KEDGEREE, with crispy onions / 9-15 yrs

Suitable for 9 – 15 year olds
(1 3/4 hr Workshop) $50

You will prepare and cook:

  • Kedgeree - this dish consists of curried rice, smoked fish, boiled eggs, peas & herbs. The origins are Indian, known as Kitchari, but the English adapted the dish to include smoked fish.

 You will learn to:     

  • Follow a recipe

  • Identify, weigh and measure ingredients

  • Use knives to chop and slice safely

  • Identify some Indian spices

  • Cook rice and boil eggs

  • Poach smoked fish

  • Follow directions regarding hygiene and safety around the oven and kitchen

  • Work as part of a small team

All classes are held in Jane’s Kitchen, Clayfield and will be run to a Covid Safe Plan.

If a child is keen to participate but is unavailable for the workshop advertised, subject to workshop availability, they can join the same workshop on another day.
